| Milton Glaser knew ever since he was a child that he was talented; he didn't understand the concept of "fine art"--painting something to be sold and kept in a stranger's living room--so he decided upon "commercial art," better known as graphic design. He is widely known for his iconic "I Heart NY" design that was created to promote tourism in New York after 9/11--other infamous graphic designs include his Bob Dylan design for Columbia Records. He also founded the New York Magazine in 1968. His art has been featured in museums worldwide: from the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris to the Museum of Modern Art in New York. |
